Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Ordered through Uber Eats. Cannot fault the time and delivery, or temperature of drinks and pastries. My family gave five stars for the pie and sausage roll. In future I won’t order a toasted BLT with avocado. It became too difficult to eat as the filling kept falling out and the toasting made the sourdough rubbery. Chips were a little cold but okay. A hash brown was ordered and paid for but didn’t arrive."
"Family sad there is a nicest Cafe in Hall, the Daughter in Hall, very nice spot, we go there for our breakfast. We sat inside as the outside was full of people. Beautiful Cafe is run by fantastic family, are so Wonderful and Helpful. When we arrived and looked at the manu and ordered, our breakfast came to the table so quickly. . Big Breakfast Two scrambled eggs, one without Bacon, fried eggs , Bacon, chorizo, house made beans , grilled tomatoes and buttered Sourdough toasted. With breakfast cups, cappuccino, Mocha, and a tropical escape, mango , dragon fruit , passion fruit , and mango nectar. Years ago, this Daughter in Hall Cafe was the main grocery store (Est. 1889), for Hall, all the Hall residents get their groceries. I came to the store often when the highway was going through the Hall, as I stopped to get some snacks for the trip . Come again for homemade style cakes, muffins, and so on,with Coffee ."
"Tucked away in the historic Village of Hall, ACT, this café is a true gem that is not just your everyday small town coffee shop. It captures the essence of country charm - character, warmth, friendliness and its very own history, run by a local family who have been in the area for generations. The atmosphere is steeped in character, with nods to its heritage that give the space a timeless feel - with a menu and service that is second to none. The coffee here is nothing short of exceptional. Smooth, and crafted with real care. The food equally impressive: fresh, hearty, and beautifully presented, striking the perfect balance between comfort and quality. I moved to the area 9 months ago, and this place is my morning coffee stop on the way to work, and at least once for breakfast on weekends. If you are around and you stop in, you are in for a real treat - I recommend the following dishes: 'Sons have a say' and their Carrot Cake (which is homemade) is total perfection. If you’re looking for more than just a café – a place that offers both history and heart along with outstanding coffee, food and staff that actually care about your experience – this is the place for you."
"For Us this is the gem we found on the "road less travelled". After five years of my husband reading about and me hearing about damper we finally got to try it and it was deliciously soft and light. The breakfast was a authentic bush experience of flavours. It's family owned and very warm and welcoming. We loved their sourdough so much we bought the loaf. A must visit. We will be back."
"It has a nice selection of breakfast and lunch meals. It also has delicious cakes, slices, and coffee. They sell homemade jams and chutneys. The service was quick and friendly. The outside is the most popular with a great view of the Hall village. I'll be back."
"Loved the breakfast before a conference. Although I was serviced their last straw before their renovation, everyone in our group enjoyed the food, drinks and atmosphere..."
"Great little café just a couple of minutes off the highway near Hall, close to Canberra. Plenty of parking right out the front, which made it easy to pop in on our Sunday drive. We got there before it closed at 2pm — the coffee was hot and really well made, and the muffin was fresh and tasty. Definitely worth the quick detour if you're passing by!"
"One of the best place for coffee and Brekkie. Loved the place people and mostly the house baked sourdough Very Quiet and beautiful."
